Obituary for Mary Theresa Manning (Burchstead)

BEVERLY: M. Theresa “T.C.” (Burchstead) Manning, 90, died Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers. She was the wife of the late Kenneth H. Manning who died in 2009.
Born in Beverly on July 19, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Ann (Galvin) Burchstead. A lifelong resident of Beverly, She was a graduate of St. Mary’s School and a longtime communicant of St Mary's Star of Sea Parish.
A familiar face around Beverly, T.C is probably remembered by many as the face behind the counter at the former Delight Donuts on Rantoul St. After the business closed, T.C. had a second career employed as a machine operator at Delta Electronics in Beverly for twenty years. She enjoyed her yard, gardening, spending time at Salem Willows and especially loved spending time with her family. Before T.C's health started to fail, she was often seen at yard sales and rummage sales. She loved people watching. She attended the Spectrum Adult Day Health program for 9 years where she was fondly referred to as the “Mayor.” She loved it there and hated to miss a day.
She is survived by her loving son, Kenneth J. Manning and his wife, Maryjane (Ercha) of Beverly. Her sister in law, Erika Welch of Utah, wife of her deceased brother Wilbur Burchstead. Her beloved nephew, Bruce Burchstead and his family as well as many nieces and nephew. She is also survived by her "special" angels, the dedicated home health aides who cared for her so lovingly. Too many to mention, but forever in our hearts.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot St., Beverly at 12 noon. Visitation will be held prior to the Mass in the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St., Beverly from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery, Salem. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Spectrum Adult Day Health Program, 600 Cummings Center, # 176X, Beverly, MA 01915.
