Obituary for Joseph A. Gilbert Jr.

Joseph A. Gilbert of Danvers passed away on June 16, 2017. Born on May 13, 1931 he was the son of Joseph and Laura (Spence) Gilbert. He was predeceased by his wife Carole (Dawson) Gilbert.
Joseph grew up in Danvers and attended Danvers High school. He was a member of both the French and Italian clubs in Beverly.
Joseph is survived by his two sons Garry and William Gilbert and his wife Mia, both of Louisiana, his daughter Julie (Gilbert) Boucher and her husband Mark, of Beverly. He was predeceased by his two brothers Robert and Richard Gilbert. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Richard and Dana Pompei, Kevin Hall and his wife Diana, Garry Gilbert Jr., Gabrielle Masters, and George Gilbert, and two great grandchildren, Jonathan Gilbert and Alexa Masters. Joseph is also survived by his long-term partner Betty Bates, of Danvers.
Joseph’s services will be held privately. Arrangements made by the Campbell Funeral Home 525 Cabot St. Beverly, MA 01915. Contributions in his memory can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital.
